If you want results, then start putting in the effort.

Welcome back!
Are you prepared to get up early, get to bed late and stay focussed and committed to the project you believe in?
Or is it a struggle to get out of your bed in the morning, and do what you need to do to promote your products/services?
The author of “The Road Less travelled” - M. Scott Peck, got paid just $5000 as an advance by his publishers to write the book. In the first 365 days that the book came out, he did 1000 radio interviews to promote it. He then committed to do one radio interview every day for the next 12 years to get his message out and to help promote the book.
Was it worthwhile?
The book sold 10,000,000+ copies in 20+ languages and remained in the New York Times Best-Seller list for an amazing 540+ weeks. (That’s over 10 years).
So, what are you doing today to promote your products and services and to get your message out to your target audience?
Can you make everybody like you?
May 28, 2009
..perhaps not, but you can take away every reason for them disliking you.
Everyone has their detractors and everyone has different opinions, likes and dislikes. I met a life coach this week, who said it was their mission in life “to be loved by everyone.” I thought how ironic, how selfish, how disappointed they were going to be.
Wouldn’t you think?
I could almost understand “to love everyone”, by accepting their faults etc, but the more I thought of Mr. Life Coach….
POINT 1 - SELFISH MARKETING
..the more I thought, “Blimey you’ve got it the wrong way round mate”. In my book he was breaking the #1 principle of marketing by committing “selfish marketing”. Quite often when people want more business or need more business, they can come across as selfish, needy even desperate on occasion. They focus all their attention on them, and crikey Mr. Life Coach spoke for about 10 minuites not asking a single question about me. Hey that’s fine, but crikey, as a 2 way communication device he was stuck on transmit. He needed to start taking an interest in others, instead of focussing on himself.
POINT 2 - IT’S ABOUT GIVING, NOT RECEIVING
Do you want a Job or Opportunity for Life?
May 28, 2009
It used to be, goto school, goto university, get a good job in a large firm and you’ll be set for life.
Now teenagers are earning £1000, £5000, £10,000+ a month in some cases via the internet.
Furthermore, with all these large “safe” institutions not being “safe” anymore, I think the days of a “job” for life are gone.
But I firmly believe there is opportunity all around us every single day.
Some just aren’t able to recognise it.
Many opportunities are hidden bang in the middle of a crisis, a disappointment or a learning experience.
Sometimes opportunity can knock to find no-one in.
I phoned 2 landscape gardeners today - on both occasions, the phone rang and rang, weren’t conencted to ansaphones or redirected to mobiles.
They both lost out.
Are you equipped for when an opportunity comes your way? Do you wait for it come knocking, or do you create your own?
Some people come up with great ideas, loads of ideas, but an idea is only any good if you put it into practice.
I’m convinced that opportunities only appear to gravitate to people who are out there trying to create them.
D + B + E = R
May 14, 2009
A wee formula for you. D + B + E = R.
(where R = Results)
D You must have DESIRE for a goal/event to take place
e.g. A teenager DESIRES to be a professional footballer.
B You must BELIEVE the event CAN take place
If you cannot believe the event can reasonably take place your mind will be working against it.
e.g. Our teenager BELIEVES he will play for a team in the 3rd Division
E You must EXPECT the event to take place (first 2 parts of the equation are passive. This is the dynamic element. It’s possible to desire something, believe it can take place but still not EXPECT it to happen.)
e.g. BUT Our teenager doesnt EXPECT he’ll play for MANCHESTER UTD.
Why not?
Napoleon Hill once said “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve”.
Have faith in yourself. Believe. Know with certainty.
Try this exercise.
Touch your nose.
Go on, touch your nose. Then, touch it again.
When you start to raise your hand, you know without a shred of doubt that you will not fail to raise your hand and touch your nose. The thought does not even occur to you that you may not be able to touch your nose. You do it with certainty.
