Do you get overwhelmed by SEO and what to do?

September 27, 2008

SEO (Search engine optimisation) isn’t as complicated as its made out to be.

In fact there are hundreds of software tools and applications to take all the hard work out of most of what you have

So what’s it all about?  What areas do we really need to focus on.

Anchor Text Research

Anchor Text or Keywords are the words which people type in the search engines to find your website.  One god tip is to ensure your website pages urls contain the keyword or anchor text you want found by.  Also, if you’re adding links on other people’s sites back to yours - include the anchor text/keywords in the name of the url, instead of the name of your site.

Link Popularity

This is now probably the biggest contributory factors in ensuring your website gets found.  The major search engines like to see good quality sites providing one way links to your site. This means you are in good company, and are directing traffic to relevant content.  Article directories, link directories and other content syndication sites can help with this. Even leaving comments on other people’s blogs.

 Better page optimisation

FAQ Marketing and The Power of FAQs

September 24, 2008

Sales can be lost online and offline primarily due to one or a combination of three reasons -

  • Timing
  • Budget
  • Un-answered Questions

In this short blog I want to focus on “un-answered Questions”.

FAQ Marketing can really help address this issue.  By Creating a list of Frequently Asked Questions about a particular product, service, solution or aspect of your website, then you can help address those un-answered questions, and ultimately increase more sales.

The majority of your competitors don’t leverage this to their advantage.  They don’t leverage FAQ Marketing to allow the FAQ section of their website to raise potential objections, and address them head on.

If there is a potential bomb that can derail a sale, detonate it in a controlled manner, so you can isolate the real issues, and address any concerns before it is too late.

FAQ Marketing helps you to raise potential questions, or questions that your prospect has about your product or service, address them head on, to placate the prospect or give them the confidence to go to the next stage of your sales process.

Here’s an example of FAQ Marketing that I have implemented for my Results Coaching Program.
