Charlie Robertson, is a BNI Executive Director for Scotland West.
At 3.20pm one afternoon, last August he stopped on my track just outside my house to ask for directions, and that was how we met in person for the first time. (Bearing in mind, I stay 60 miles north of Aberdeen.)
Interestingly though, he had just driven for 4 hours to come and meet me to sign up for my Results Coaching Program after completing my 3 Minute Marketing Audit and one 20 minute phone call - same day, earlier that morning.
So there he was - A Glaswegian, 60 miles north of Aberdeen on a farm track in the middle of nowhere - The wind blowing, and the rain sideways as he asked for directions to Fraser Hay’s home.
I didn’t know what it was, but I had a good positive, if “funny” feeling about this chap.
Suffice to say,after a 20 minute phone call, he had made the 400 mile round trip to drive up, paid me in advance of the results coaching program putting his faith in me, and after a 3 hour meeting, he left with nothing.
He left with nothing to show his financial committment to a stranger he hadn’t met before that day, having paid up front for something, and had to make the 4 hour drive home wondering if he made the right decision.
